Monitoring and Controlling Noise from a Disco
Discos are fun for all, of course except the people who live nearby. Even school discos, which tend to be earlier in the evening, come in for criticism when the noise from the music interferes with somebody else's leisure time. The Bluebox, when set up correctly, should allow the disco to continue but give warning when the music gets loud enough to cause problems. Of course if the warning are ignored then the music will be switched off, but usually the warning is sufficient. Setting the LevelThe level can be adjusted by opening the front cover (using a key) to access the control. Accurate equipment can be used to set the level but it is often much more useful to select the level by ear, with the agreement of the local residents or the whoever is responsible for law enforcement or environmental health.
